Is MobileMe worth the money to buy? Or is it just a big waste of $100 bucks?

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and maybe. If you have an iPhone or iPad, MobileMe is a must (for the "Find" feature alone). If you have more than one Mac, yes (for the "Back to My Mac" feature - especially when traveling). If all you're looking for is email and online storage, MobileMe isn't as much of a win.

I've lived without it so far, but if/once I get it, I probably won't be able to live without it.

Yes i would defiantly say it would be a good idea to get it . It allows you to remote wipe your device =D It also allows you to keep your devices in sync :)

I highly recommend getting MobileMe! In the event your iPad/iphone is stolen, you can track it down with the Find My iPhone or iPad feature. That alone is worth your peace of mind.

Does it work with iPod touch? If not, then why? If the answer is no cellular, well there is a Wi-Fi only version of the iPad...

I don't own an iPod Touch, so I can't say? Why don't you post the question?

I don't use it because I already have paid web hosting. So I don't see the point. With MobileMe, you get X amount of web space, but I don't need that. As for the "Find my iPhone" feature, well I don't own an iPhone so it doesn't affect me. Thus nothing about it is really needed by me.

Yes, if you have an iPhone - "Find My iPhone" is invaluable. Let me put it to you this way: if you ever lose that thing, you'd have paid twice as much to know where it was.

I have been using microsoft exchange/imap to keep everything synced up nicely on the iphone. Is the mobileme experience worth $100.00 over the free option? although the "lost my iphone" would be cool :-)

Reminder; You get $30 off MobileMe if you buy it at the same time you buy a new iPhone or iPad. I tried to remind myself when I was pre-ordering our iPhone 4's but the server errors made me forget when it came time to checkout. You can also get it for about $71 on Amazon.com, though.

If you have an iPhone or iPad the ability to find your iPhone, erase what is on it, or lock it so no one can use it is an amazing feature. That alone is probably worth the $100 in some cases.

Even if you don't use those features the file and back up syncing from all of your devices is great. If you have a heavy file person or have a lot of contacts and appointments that you don't want to loose then MobileMe is for you.
