So a friend of mine just bought a HP Pavilion dv4-2145dx laptop. I am planning of buying my friend Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 PC for this upcoming birthday. I was wondering if this laptop can run the game. The specs are... Processer-AMD Turion™ II/2.3 GHz RAM-4gb Video Chip-ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Video memory-128MB display cache; up to 1918MB total Cache memory-1MB on die Level 2 Display-WXGA high-definition widescreen with BrightView technology (1280 x 800) Hard Drive-320gb |

its more than enough. mw2 is graphics intensive so the laptop should be able to handle it properly |

Um no, it won't. It will run but it will probably run terribly. I have a Radeon HD 4200 integrated onto my main board on my desktop. I barely got 30fps at the lowest settings. It WILL run, but don't expect much eye candy. As for ram and processor you have more than needed. A 4200 has performance only slightly faster than 6600gt except it supports dx 10.1 |

Have him go to http://www.canyourunit.com from the laptop and pick the game from the dropdown and let it scan. It'll tell you when it's done whether or not it can be run based on the hardware config and the game's listed requirements. That website is crap. No, just just crap. FULL of horse crap. Doesn't work as "advertised". It said my old desktop could play a lot of games nicely, but when I went out to buy those games and installed them, I could barely even start those games. And what's with the necropost? @Billy Aoki, Minimal != Recommended Dunno about the necropost. All I know is it just showed up in my FB feed from Chris' account so I clicked and answered it. Maybe he's recycling old questions... |

It will run, but you will probably have to run it on lower graphics settings. I have a laptop with an HD 3200, and it's pretty laggy. |
|
You won't be able to play it in the best settings though |

it wont run it smoothly even on low if you have the laptop with you right now, test the demo to confirm http://www.gamershell.com/download_21400.shtml but from my experience with laptops in that range, it wont run it smoothly even on low |
