Do you find yourself tired at the wheel? I often do as I have early mornings for work, what do you do to keep yourself awake? I find drinks like red bull very helpful and often keep one in the glove box. |
I know a few people that use Red Bull that way. If there is anyway you can have a 20 minute nap in the afternoon? - that would be way better than red bull. 20 minutes, no more no less. |

I stupidly just keep driving. When it gets really bad, i.e. after 20 hours or so, I'll stop at a motel. Actually you have some strange timing; I did this just recently over the past two days. I stopped at the Holiday Inn in Albequerque, just for Weird Al points. Thankfully, I did not encounter a hermaphrodite with a Flock of Seagulls haircut and only one nostril. So don't let the song prevent you from staying there. It's better to avoid New Mexico altogether, unless of course you're a big fan of nothing. Because they've got lots of it. |

20 minutes, as conoraleckelly suggested, followed by a cold shower -- involuntarily (eg. make your spouse or friend throw a bucket of water on you if you don't go willingly), if necessary. A coffee or red bull following would be fine. |

i leave at 4 am and work ten hour days, i have a 2 hour drive to work, i sip away on a Monster energy drink and listen to good tunes, keeps me pumped |
I listen to a morning talkshow on the radio and drink coffee. |
If I'm traveling solo: Pull over, get out and stretch my legs with a short walk, grab some form of caffeine (coffee, Dr Pepper) and splash some cold water on my face, walk some more and then get back on the road to repeat the cycle. |

Sleepy?, Get adrenaline quickly, to do this, pinch your ear lobe hard, the relief is breathtaking so beath hard as well. Another method, if you have a passenger, is to get him or her to start knucking your side ribs untill it hurts, this alerts the passenger to your dangerouse condition. |
if i just feel a little drowsy i find that water works best, and its probably about the most healthy alternative, better then energy drinks anyways, or have a snack... |
