I'm configuring a mac mini, which upgrade would make more of a difference. By the way, I like to occasionally play games. The upgrades are: 2.4ghz to 2.66ghz, or 2gb of ram to 4gb. Which one would make the biggest difference and how?

Do not add anything to your Mac Mini when configuring it through the Apple store. It's cheaper to buy parts from other vendors and install them yourself afterwards (not to mention, higher-quality components).

Now, as for your actual question, the RAM would make the more noticeable difference, as the processor is rarely the bottleneck these days.

Also, consider installing an SSD (use the money you saved from not configuring the Mac mini through Apple), as it will substantially improve the performance of your computer.

I agree, It is pointless to upgrade your Mac when buying it. Just get the minimum configurations and then buy more RAM on a site like Newegg.com They will overcharge you for upgrades, I had this similar experience with HO when I bought their laptop. I ended up paying $1700 for a $600 computer. Never again!

Yeah, RAM will make a bigger difference at this point. Then, down the road you could get the additional Ghz.
