I have an Ipod touch that i have been using for the past year or so. I just bought an Ipad which i successfully synced all my music on. The problem I am having is when i go to sync apps it is telling me it wants to delete all the apps information on my IPad in order to sync it with my itunes which has a bunch of junk apps i used to use on my ipod touch.

I spent over 100$ on apps and have downloaded over 30 free apps as well. I do not want to erase everything on my ipad and lose the information saved in the apps or even worst lose all the apps on the ipad and have to re-download or repay for some of them.

I am not a pro with Itunes.. maybe there is something i am doing wrong.. I am terrified to press the sync button in the app section.. Any help would be appreciated.

When you first synced it, did you use a different computer? It can only sync with one computer at a time, so if you try to sync it with a different computer, it will ask to erase the device and resync with the data on the new computer.

I did not sync it using a different PC. But i had auto sync apps unchecked. Because it had bugged once on my ipod touch. Now i went to activate it again and thats when it all happened.

if yo first synced it to a pc and than use an other pc to sync it to then you could use home sharing and transport all your apps.

if u activated it at a iTunes store, then i don't really know what you should do.

if u have a laptop you could ask at the store to sync your iPad to the Mac that was used to activate it and then transport the apps using home sharing.

  • iPad -> store Mac -> Laptop -> iPad
  • iPad -> store Mac -> (friends) laptop -> PC -> iPad

Maybe you could try mobile me (3months) free, and try syncing it over the cloud
