About how much data do you consume with an iphone on ATT. Is the 2 gigs a month or even the 200 mb of data enough for you or do you need more? |
|
I don't have an iphone but am planning to switch to the ATT network when the new iphone is released. I am just looking to see if 2 gigs of data is enough. |

Two gigs of data is ussually enough for a normal user, a power user would probably use a bit more, but then again a notebook would suffice enough for that. A normal user using the phone normally would be fine. |

I don't have an iphone, but I think If I would switch, I would use the 2 gigs data plan. |

I posed this question to others this morning. If you are an existing AT&T customer, you can see a nice historical bar graph of your data usage broken down by month: https://www.att.com/view/analytics/process.do I consider myself a 'power user' and have reasonable 3G coverage, use my phone at least 2hrs a day, but easily double, trip, quad that. I found my usage fluctuated by a std deviation of 85.21876 with a mean of 199.714 I was surprised to see this, but realized that even though I'm using my phone just about all the time, it's usually at my home, friends home, or someplace that has WiFi for anything bandwidth intensive. Based on this, I would consider the 2G plan to be fairly reasonable for most, especially when used in conjunction with the iPhone app from AT&T (http://itunes.apple.com/US/app/unknown/id309172177?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D6), or sending a SMS txt to: DATA# ( 3282# ) |

I use around 5GB or so a month with tethering and music streaming on and off during the day. AT&T's new data plans are a little uninviting to the people that are used to the "unlimited" comfort, but in most situations you're grandfathered in. For example, if you're going from a current iPhone with an unlimited data plan to a new iPhone that is expected to drop soon, you can keep your current unlimited data plan. The new plans only apply to new users, or someone that's coming from a non unlimited plan. |

I really don't know how much data i use. But i don't thing 2gb is enough for me. |
