Chrome web browser VS Chromium. I haven't really heard about Chromium, but I'm using Chrome right now. Is Chromium better than Chrome? And what do you think of it.

Chromium is just the developer's version of Chrome. Although it is the newest, it is prone to crashes and bugs. So if you do not need to help build it and report problems, stick with Chrome

Chromium is what Chrome is based on. So you can think of Chrome as the evolution of Chromium. But Chromium is updated more frequently.

If you don't already know. You probably won't want it.

It's like a neverending beta for Chrome. It's usually better then Chrome, when it works.

Chromium is wicked fast also.

I run the Ubuntu daily build of Chromium from the PPA, and it is much nicer than Chrome. The features that take weeks to get to Chrome, I already enjoy. With Chrome, you are getting the Google branding and an automatic updater, along with a few other things. That isn't much to me though, as updating Chromium for me is just a simple update command in the terminal.

Chromium is also frequently faster and more standards-compliant than Chrome, as it often is built with the latest build of the WebKit engine.

If you do a benchmark test, Chromium is faster, but people say it is unstable and not meant for public consumption. I haven't had any problems with it in the couple weeks I've been using it and use it over Chrome.
