My internal and external microphones are not working on my 2 week old computer. What should I do? I checked the settings and everything looks like it should be working. I got my external mic 10 days ago. What should I do?!? Its a hp 340-US |

1 control panel (in classic view) device manager, have a look if any of your devices are in an error state. 2 if it's a none USB type Mic, see if there is a Realtec HD audio icon in the bottom right (click the little arrow if it's there) and then have a look if your mic is present. if it isnt, disconnect and reconnect (whilst in the program) and it should ask what it is. 3 right click on the sound icon, select recording deviecs and right click on the mic and/or line in and select enable or proporties. it should also indicate the Mic in there. |

First, try restarting your computer, then update all the latest drivers, if it is still not working, contact HP at http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/contact/chat_1.html . |

It's most likely not a hardware fault hp will not look at it before you perform a system recovery, and as it's fairly new I'd suggest you try this too, back up your data and restart computer press f11 at stArtup when you see the hp logo. This will reset pc to factory settings, and may fix your problem. If still faulty call hp they will send a dourer to pick it up and repair it, they usually ship it back to you within a week. |
