[closed] Why does my laptop's screen flicker?

I'm using a HP Compaq 6720s and when I turn it on and it boots up to the desktop the screen will turn black, flicker back to the desktop, turn black and again and then once again flicker back to the desktop. This happens every time I turn on my laptop and it always happens when it gets to the desktop. What can I do?
