I can't boot in to my one of my dual boot boxes runing XP Media center (pro with an addon) and Ubuntu Fiesty Fawn.

We been haveing brown outs here in Kansas for the last week.

Advise?

im downloading ubuntu feisty fawn now but im going to try systemRescueCD first see how that gos... Dam brown outs! :-(

Worst case sanerio is i have to pull the HDD's and recover the data externally.

No, worst case is you accidentally format over it.

But that's pretty unlikely :)

OMG i super fail! lol

So you know when grub loads and it displays all the former kernels that were updated over time...? well under each one theirs also recovery mode...cof cof ...yea lol.

I downloaded feisty fawn (ubnutu 7.04 still works good for me)and SystemRescueCD and not to much use. So i kept rebooting and hitting c and trying various commands but to no avail. I was about to ssh in and back it all up then i looked right in front of me at recovery mode and repaired grub.

Fill free to e-pork chop me in the forehead.

btw ty for trying to help ...now i'm going to do all my systems backup :-)

Actually no, I didn't know that. For the few weeks I was using grub, I just let it stay the way it had configured itself. Seemed to work just fine for me.
