Apple has always helped Microsoft: Without Apple, Microsoft would be put on Monopoly charges in the personal computer market :P:P:P:P

Apple has helped technology moved forward as we know it. They were one of the first to successfully make a good GUI operating system. If you don't think that that was significant enough, they introduced the iPhone. The iPhone was what made modern smart phones as we know it smart phones.

Actually, Palm and Blackberry evolved in to what is referred to as a "Smartphone" today.. a long time before the iPhone was even an itch in Steve Job's pants.

Considering that every version of Windows tries to copy Mac OS, yes Apple has helped Microsoft in a big way :-D

Microsoft owns a part of Apple, they have for a good number of years.
