What are your fallback connections to The Internet?

I don't know about you, but my connection to The Internet is becoming more & more of a necessity. As a result of this, I've made fallback plans to connect to The Internet:

Kindly share the different ways you connect to The Internet.

I don't have any fall back connections. If my internet goes down it goes down. I don't see my internet as a form of oxygen, I won't die from not being able to access the web, so I just wait until it's back up.

I don't have any fall backs either, thankfully I have a stable connection that is pretty fast. In the years that I've been with this company I can count the number of outages on one hand and all were fixed fairly quickly.

I've made fallback plans to connect to The Internet when the High Speed Broadband in the house dies:

  • 3G Dongle (Pay As You Go)
  • iPhone 3GS (unable to Teather due to iOS Version :'(
  • Another WiFi Connection

i went the whole christmas on my 3G Dongle because we had just moved in and hadn't had our Services Connected yet :)

I suppose it is quite funny that we rely so much on the Internet we have so many backup methods of ensuring we don't lose the service entirely. I don't have a backup car after all!

My fall-back connections when the Cable goes down are as follows:

  1. Blackberry Torch tethering
  2. 3G Wireless Mi-Fi device
  3. Using the neighbours unsecured Wi-Fi

I mostly have backup power options. For internet I have my iPhone connection and that is all which has come in handy. If my power was to go out for an entire day I have more than enough power for it.

If I lose my cable internet connection, I swap to my Sprint HTC Mogul's data thru bletooth PAN or USB, its still fast enough to game & download. My cell used to be my only connection to the internet.

Myself just for getting my emails with would be just dialup. I can survive without it for a few days. I did it on several occasions when I did not need the internet connection for a few days. It is not a essential top priority in my life when I could use it within reason at work.

None :( . I just have Wifi and that's it (even though it rarely drops and I have ~200 Mbits/s connections :) )
