With my original iPhone (the original iPhone) I had the same screen protector on it for over 2 years, and it got pretty banged it (the screen protector not the phone, but remember screen protector is made of a plastic like material). Now the new iPhone is harder? Do I really need a screen protector on my iPhone 4. |

This screen is actually more vulnerable to scratches than your other iPhone, but this screen's scratches can be wiped away, yours on your first iPhone can't The iPhone 3GS, iPad, and iPhone 4, all have an oleo-phobic coating on the glass, all of the glass, and that is for less fingerprints, it works, but I'd rather see finger prints than scratches, so I use screen shields. If you do get a scratch, it will scratch easier, because glass is rated 6 on the hardness scale, pretty hard, but the oleo-phobic is a low hardness level. Eventually the coating wears off, but I still wouldn't want to see those scratches for long. Also, its been rumored that screen protectors can make the screen unpolished, but I'm pretty sure using it without a screen protector will do it a lot faster. |

No one needs a screen proctecor until they see a huge gouge on their brand new iPhone. Screen protector AND case all the way, you can always take them off. |

You need them, never not use them :) Many people who have devices with out a screen protector will thing their screen is good but if they shine a light on the screen in a angle and look at the screen, they will see many tiny scratches. (remember skin is pretty abrasive (keyboard keys get faded, controllers get their buttons faded). The act of touching the screen constantly not only smudges it, it scratches it slightly. In most cases it is not noticeable unless you sign a light on it in the right angle to see surface imperfections. Eventually you will notice the scratches as they build up. A screen protector will protect you from this and a major headache. even if you have a tiny scratch that you don't notice. the moment you shine a light or something then you only notice the scratch, kinda like how some people can have a dead pixel on their HDTV and not notice it but one day someone points it out and now when ever they watch it they notice the pixel and get angry because of it. ebay has many cheap screen protectors, get them for all of your devices with a screen. This will save you from a lot of stress for a very low cost. |

I have the answer to this and the antenna problem: http://goo.gl/K8bT Also solves the smear issues. :D |

I would put one on your phone just to be safe; it only takes one scratch to make you think otherwise, and a piece of plastic film is infinitely cheaper than replacement glass. |
|
i would go with it because like everyone says better safe than sorry you will be really angry with yourself if your screen gets cracked thats why i would go with the screen protector it is worth the small amount of money to not have to worry about a cracked screen |

You DEFINITELY need a protector, I saw a small nick in mine from God knows what so I got invisible sheild. Its the same film that protects military helicopter propellers from damage, and with the iPhone glass being made of a chopper windshield you might as well match. |
|
Of course you should have screen protector for iPhone4, unless your screen is made of diamond. Its cheap, bether say than sorry. |

Screen Protectors for the iPhone are mainly used to prevent oil build up because if enough oil builds up it's hard to get it off the screen |
