iPad or iPhone 4?

Should I buy and iPad or an iPhone 4?

I know what you'll ask me... What do I want to do with it?

I love the idea of a bigger screen, great for seeing movies and playing games, but I also love the idea of recording HD video with the iPhone, the retina display and the awesome performance it has.

My first idea was to buy an iPad, but I am afraid of buying it and then they might release the new generation, which will obviously be so much better than the 1st one.

I'm from Mexico, so that's kind of a problem if I want to buy an iPhone. I heard you can buy the iPhone 4 without a contract in any Apple Store for 499 dlrs, but will it work in Mexico? Is it possible to unlock it?

What do you think I should do?

First off your English is quite well done. it does not sound like to me you want to make calls... so why get a phone? you could get the ipod touch.

There are ways to unlock the iphone but it is against the EULA, which at least in the USA can get you in trouble, i am not sure if it apples in Mexico.

if you are set on the HD video and the high quality screen, then you would almost have to go with the iphone. However, I'm sure if you wait apple will come out with a ipod touch with similar features.

I already have an iPod Touch, and actually I'm not interested in the iPhone 4 as a phone, but as a device with a lot of potential... if there was an iPod Touch with similar features (camera, retina display, etc) I would buy it instead of the iPhone, but there isn't.. when do you think the next gen of ipod touch will be out?
