It seems like a lot of YouTubers out there have live streams on secondary sites other than YouTube (like Ustreaam) do you think it would be a good move for YouTube to enable live streaming on their site?

They have a Live Stream Feature but its only used to special events. Think it is a great idea for YouTube to open that feature to the public.

I think they will open it up to the public eventually but it might not be for a year or so, maybe even longer :(

Yeah. There is such feature but it's only for special events. I can't really imagine this just because it s gonna take a lot of servers and stuff and it won't be able to hold all that stuff for all users.

YouTube would find a way to make it work.

It would be so nice, but the servers needed probably makes it not cost effective.

yea the load on there servers would increase alot, but there revenue would increase and the servers could pay for themselves.

I don't know how it would turn out, because YT might be overwhelmed then. But I would love to see YT at least giving a try.

There was some kind of live stream feature, but it was only videos that were already uploaded. Someone has to know more about this than me.

compared to just hosting videos, live streaming requires a much larger server load. Youtube will have to pretty much increase their server resources by like 100 times. to handle a good chunk of youtube users live streaming.

I think it would be a great idea for Google to make such a feature. The only issue is, money. Just like everything else on this planet. It would be so expensive. They would have to hire so many people to moderate such a feature. I'm sure it would be much more popular then any other free service out there. I think they should make it for payments. In other words, average users can watch live streams, but, they can't chat or stream live with out signing up. You can only sign up with paying. I think it would be a good idea for Google to make some money.
