What programms do you need on your computer?

I just did a fresh install of Windows XP Pro on my computer and installed SP3, Flash, Java, VLC media player, Open Office, Adobe Reader, and several anti virus/spyware/firewall programs. But I feel like I forgot something. Can any of you think of something that I might have missed?

Open Office - for all your work.

Chromium - for fast internet browsing.

Gimp - to edit photos.

7-Zip - to open all file types including rar & iso.

Foxit Reader - smaller & lighter than Adobe Reader.

Combined Community Codec Pack - but you have vlc so ur cool.

Panda Cloud av - Small, light, cloud based anti-virus solution.

All free. All will get you up and running in no time. (I also have to get my sound and video drivers)

Chrome/Firefox/Opera, unless you're happy with IE. I hear the latest version is significantly improved actually.

I'd recommend Dropbox as well actually - great utility for backing up and syncing files across PCs.

Yea I forgot to mention that I installed Firefox but I still feel like there is something else that I might need when surfing the web.

Out of interest, which anti-virus, anti-spyware and firewall programs do you favour?

AVG, Adaware, and Spybot sometimes I'll ad Norton and/or McAffe

if i was running a streamlined PC I'd only need a Internet browser and another program to write documents. I'd also need some way of digesting media such as audio and video, but I'd probable use media player classic for that. i wouldn't really need any other programs but a anti virus software would be nice.

but my most used programs at the moment are Google chrome, itunes, media player classic and Microsoft word.
