Will the iPod Touch ever have a microphone and camera?

People and videos have been saying to me, 'Oh, the next iPod Touch is gonna have a camera!!!' Or 'Hey, I can't wait until the iPod Touch 4th Generation comes out with a microphone!!!'

So today I am basically asking, True or False.

NOTE: I really want to know if you have any thoughts about this and if you have a picture or video can you please give a link or attach the picture.

i figure that apple just wants to keep the iPhone one feature ahead of the iPod touch so i would expect the new one to have at least a Mic if not a back facing camera but not a front facing camera because then they would have equal amount of features and that would cause a drop in sales

The new iPhone 4 or 4GS might have something brand new that no-one has ever thought of before like a logon feature, where you can logon to separate accounts and access all your own E-Mail and apps and so on. Also, because it has got a front facing camera then it can detect you and logon to your account automatically. I think Steve Jobs should be looking at this post. "The new iPhone 5 with the iOS 5.0 has got 1 new feature. A logon screen!"

Well There Have Been leaks of the Itouch having a Camera. Similar to the Iphone 4 leaks that were pretty accurate. The Itouch will most likely have a Camera. But if you have a camera you have to have microphone built in as well. So i think the new Keynote from apple will be about the new Itouch.

You don't have to have a mic, you only meed it when you are going to take videos. You don't need it for pictures.

A camera I can believe, but a mic, I'm not so sure. I don't really think Apple wants people to start using their Touch as a phone using Skype... Allthough, there are external mics available, so.... I don't know.

Apple supplies a mic attached to the earphones for 3rd generation iPod touches. So this theory of them not wanting a mic on the touch is fail.

The iPod Touch update this fall will more likely than not have a camera so people can record videos, edit, and upload to YouTube just like the iPhone. I would also imagine that they will integrate a better battery and their new A4 chipset.

EDIT: So, you said Ipod Touch, not iPad. They should have one, but it would also kick up the price for it. Would you pay that much more for a camera feature that has a limited quality?

I don't see why you would want a camera.

A camera, which wouldn't be that amazing, on a giant iPad. Why would you use that big thing to take pictures? A front facing one for a webcam or "face-to-fact" seems logical, but a camera on the back, doesn't seem practical.

I really don't care for Apple, but it seems ridiculous to not have a camera. They should have one on there.
