I know that for a while IE has been considered amongst geeks to be a buggy, unreliable mess that ignores web standards and has multiple security concerns. But what does everyone think of the latest version? I've given it a quick go after Chrome kept having problems with YouTube (which I find bizarre considering they are both owned by Google), and actually the early impressions are pretty good. |

Internet Explorer 8 is actually pretty decent as far as speed and security goes. Internet Explorer 9 promises to be pretty amazing. The current Platform Preview release is already astoundingly fast. |

Oh yeah, I'm a website designer and Internet Explorer always, and I mean always displays something wrong, Safari on the other hand doesn't but Safari 5 sometimes disconnects (well, just "Can't connect to the server" kinda deal) on me (no where near as Internet Explorer though...) And it's still as slow as ever... |

Internet explorer has been nothing but frustration for me since day one. I used Netscape primarily because internet explorer was so horrible. I was so happy when firefox 2 came out. It was fast and had no crashes. I will always remember Netscape. |

Hell yeah. IE sucks and will keep on doing so. In the first moment when I discovered FireFox and Chrome I realized how crappy it was: security issues (always), slow (slow) and the errors that occurred all the time. |
|
I actually don't think that Internet Explorer 8 is that bad, Fire fox isn't actually much faster than it and I have found that Fire Fox 3.6.6 is quite slow. |
|
I haveto agree... explorer 8 is pretty good, alot smoother than 7 in all aspects |

Internet Explorer is still ages before reaching the speed of other browsers. If you look at the reviews and tests comparing browsers, ie8 is at the bottom in just about every category. I believe it's not that stable either. |

internet explorer is the worst software that comes on your computer in my opinion. I use firefox because it's fast and i have never had any problems with it, i use to use chromium but then i found out that it tracks you and everything you do on chromium gets sent to google. |
