I think everyone knows the Finder Icon, well, what does it really represent? What does it stand for? Who created it? (not what company [what was the name of the guy?]) -?

I like to think that it is the face of my mac, smiling at me. Wishful thinking.

It's a face. It could be consider the "personality" of the computer (since Finder gives access to the entire OS)

I see, but doesn't anyone else think it looks like two people making it up, like a person and something else?

No, it is actually 2 faces on all together and one on the right of the finder, the light blue/Grey area

I don't think it has a name, beyond "Finder icon" but here's a variation on the theme from Flickr user FHKE: alt text
