I say go for it if you've got $95 to spare and that's not going to price you above a comparable store purchase.

from everything that i hear the i5 will do most people for most things including gamming, however if you want to really get into some high end gamming go with the i7, plus then u have some bragging rights. but the i5 will do most people

Go with the core i7. I recommend the i7 920

Then overclock it to at least 4GHz

while the i5 can offer decent performance the i7 is well worth the extra cost. You get better overclocks and triple channel memory instead of dual channel

Both CPU's are great for gaming, but the i7 is faster and better for overclocking
