You need to get social - NOT in the online world, but in the REAL world. One of the problems with the Internet is that people no longer get out of the house and off of their computers. I have 700 subscribers on YouTube and am on the computer a lot, but I make it a point [daily] to get out of the house and enjoy my life. Make friends!

You are almost exactally the same as me. You should find a group or club about something that you like in your aera. There is most likely allot of people there like you. And if you like it ask them if they have a (insert computer game, service, program). And then you can introduce them to your internet friends. Oh and do have Minecraft. Want to play with me on my server?

Alcohol is the answer, this is why people drink, it decreases your inhibitions, there are illegal drugs which do a similar thing with more severe effects, alcohol however is LEGAL and should be used RESPONSIVELY to help you enjoy yourself more in social environments. Please note, only drink if others around you are drinking too! dont drink for example, before you go to a frineds house or to the mall to hang out, drink in the evening with other people.... and dude - just make the effort, there are tons of people out there who would LOVE to get to know you, you need to allow them to!

I'm also 14 and I don't like to go outside a lot either. The time I like to go out most is at night - a peaceful time of the day. Perhaps you could get out with your friends and with their friends so you get introduced by your friends to them and so on (I know I get a little confusing :P). Then you could just sit with them and if you don't want to talk you don't need to. If there's a conversation try to chat too. In that way you can get perhaps new friends. I sometimes find myself that I disgust going outside and if I'm with someone outside that day I'm angry and don't talk much. Just enjoy your time and don't think what others may think about your behavior or something else.

I have Aspergers Syndrome as well, and though I've become decent at social interaction, I find that I just don't like it that much. I only usually need to go out with friends a few times a year to feel happy, and most of my friends are online. Getting a job will certainly help with social confidence, but there's one bit of advice that I think is crucial for fellow Aspies, and that helped me immensely. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being very introverted, or preferring to spend most of your time alone. It is a natural personality type, and is not nearly as bad as many people think. You have online friends and close in-person friends, so you are perfectly adept at social communication. Go out with your close friends a couple times and see if you like it or not. If you don't, that's perfectly fine. There is NOTHING wrong with you or your current life-style, as long as it makes you happy. Just need to make sure you know that. Good luck, comrade.
