Hi, I'm relatively new to the forum but I figured you guys would be able to help me. So basically my video editor only accepts "WMV" or "AVI". My camcorder records in "MPEG-4 Movie" so I use Format Factory from another lockergnome video to convert. When I convert them and try to edit in my program the audio is never complete. It always cut off half way or the video just goes black. The program I use to edit is VideoSpin by Pinnacle. I use Windows Movie Maker to but VideoSpin has better features so I prefer it better. Can someone please help me?!?! It's not like this needs to be made into a video but a solution to this problem would be greatly appreciated!! |

Try Prism Video Converter from NCH Software. It works well for most files, and generally as well for MP4 to WMV or AVI as well. Good luck! |

Is the video converter causing the problem, Check the video after it is converted. It could also be a different format inside the avi container (like xvid, microsoft video 1, Motion JPEG, MPEG format, etc) that the editor doesn't like |

You could try Avidemux to convert the video. It is free and open source and supports a wide selection of formats. Get it HERE Avidemux can also be used as a time line editor, but I think you will be better off with Movie Maker or Pinnacle. |

if pinnacle is free, i can't match it, but if it isn't, try camtasia studio. It's got a wide range of effects, callouts, zoom effects, cursor effects, and loads more! |

Been using VideoReDo Plus for several years to edit the commercials out of the TV shows I record with 3 TV Tuners. It handles MPG/DVR-MS...but not WTV. |
