What is the music that influenced your life and your choice of music now?

I cant really stand any of the 'modern' music, it's just got nothing to it, no soul. even though I'm not that old, I'm lucky enough to have been brought up with good music. music that means something, and brings back memory's of were it was heard.

Michael Jackson's music has influenced me through the years. The Bad album is very good and the music videos like Smooth Criminal,Speed Demon is very good.

I agree with you rocky, Michael Jackson had inspired me because while Michael was still alive, his goal was to make his music better from his earliest recordings and he seeks different ways to improve his music.

Lady Gaga has got me through my hard times. Her music helps me to go on and follow my dreams. Her music stops me worrying, and seems to help me solve my problems. She also is a great singer live, its not like her voice needs to be edited to sound good.

The music I gravitate to tends to be classic rock and Irish/Celtic, with some Broadway musical stuff mixed in. The classic rock brings back great memories, and the Irish/Celtic and Broadway stuff appeals to me because I love great ballads.

When I was a kid I would always listen to the music my parents listened to. This was mostly rock/country with big groups like The Monkees. I basically listened to that music exclusively until I got a Dreamcast and a game called Crazy Taxi. That introduced me to modern music. After listening to that as well as the old stuff a lot, I began looking for new music that I might like. Eventually, I found I liked just about any music, apart from Rap. Then I began listening to Linkin Park, and my opinion changed about Rap. I still don't like it unless done a certain way. After getting into Progressive Rock a little I heard about the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and that got me into Classical music.

These days I like anything with a good beat and/or lyrics. I listen to music in all languages and almost all genres. My Pandora Playlist doesn't know what to do with me. ^_^
