Just wondering what should I do to keep motivated to study. I know I should be working but I always find other things to keep me from doing what I should be doing. How do you keep on task with so much other stuff going on?

This is you that you shouldn't say "related (link)" for.

What? Related simply means there's another topic here that has relevant information related to the present question. There's also a list of related links on every question in the lower right of the *Lockergnome.net* screen, but it often misses the most relevant link & most people haven't noticed it's there.

If you decide to try to listen to music to motivate you to work, take a look at this question asked earlier today to see how it may help you: http://lockergnome.net/questions/50275/should-i-listen-to-music-when-i-do-school-work

A good way to keep motivated on studying and keeping your grades up is to keep something tangible that you can look at or touch that will keep you motivated. An example could be something as simple as a picture of something you hope to have or being doing that would be achieved by doing good in school.

Think about what your goals are and list all the tasks you need to do to achieve those goals. Now you have your list of things you simply must focus on daily to move closer to achieving your goals.

"Goals are dreams with deadlines."

Hold yourself accountable for the tasks you assign yourself to reach your goals, and reward yourself with something you enjoy when you complete a task.

Yes! Go to the Franklin Covey Store, and grab yourself a Planner.

If your computer is a distraction turn it off. If you need it for school, then unplug or disconnect your internet connection. If your phone is a distraction, turn it off. If your iPod (especially Touch) is distracting you, turn it off. Same with the TV. Put these items in another room if need be. Sit at a desk or table, with nothing but you school work on it. And set a goal of how much to do in a certain time period. Set a reward for when you finish that goal. This may be a bowl of ice cream, or hanging out with your best friend. Hope that helps :)

You don't list your age, but I'm going to guess you're a teenager. Oh, how I remember those days! I also have a 15 yr old daughter who would rather be doing almost anything that is NOT related to school work. ;) There's a lot going on around you. The weather is nice. The dog wants to play. The Internet is tempting. Your favorite show is on tv. Your friends are texting you while others want you to meet them at the local hangout.

There's no end to the madness!

Most importantly, you HAVE to take breaks. Don't ever think you're going to have a non-stop marathon. It's not going to work. Work for an hour, take a 15 minute break. Or work for two hours and take a half-hour break. Do whatever works for YOU. Everyone is different, and we all have different needs.

You have to set up something that works for you. Reward yourself, yes... but do so realistically. Set small goals, and give yourself small rewards. For example, Beka will have an ice cream cone during one of her breaks if she completed the tasks that she set out to do during the previous study time. SHE chooses the goals, and the rewards. She has no one to blame but herself if she doesn't get to where she wants to be... and Mom is there to fall back on if something is too difficult to do alone. :)

Sometimes I need motivation to lift weights. One way to do that is look up pics of Arnold schwarzenegger or something like that, that helps me a lot.

Ah, how to always keep yourself motivated, the way I do this, is to write everywhere all the things I want to achieve, on my computer, in front of me when I'm working on my desk, it helps me keeping my motivation up and until now it works fine so why seeking about another method ^^ !
