Is there a computer that is too powerful for you? one that just has too much processing power or ram? |
I don't think there is a computer which can be too powerful for anyone if your talking about power as in RAM and the processor, it would just run very fast with a good processor, a good video card and lots of RAM as what you are using it for wouldn't take many resources. If your talking about the power of an OS, personally I think I am able to use every operating system. |
Two words: HELL NO. I'm looking for parts to upgrade my already powerful machine...like the AMD 6-core processors...since I need more power there. |
One answer: A Quantum Computer. Those things are beastly, and they can never deadlock! They're the best, but I would never need one. |

To have so much power, as to succumb to the corruption of it's nature? Well, my area of computer based usage is only so large, and doesn't contain the best way of dispersing such things as heat very well. I can't say where my limit would lie, the threshold or line, that if passed, would simply be to much. I can say a supercomputer, such as a crey machine, would be an easy to make example. As any other person, I'm always wanting more, I see no limit in my mind, even if there is one. |

Yes, My Mac Pro Octo-core is too fast... I have only been able to max it out using Folding@home and 8 instances... You actually notice the hard drive speed :-( I should really add that it is a Nehalem 8x 3GHz with 8GB RAM and if you run things just off RAM it is amazing... but sadly the reality is you work from the hard drive and that is slow :( |
There is no such thing as 'too powerful' dude. What were you thinking? :-) You can never have too much speed. |
I don't think there is a computer too powerful for me but...I have only used Dell Hp and Acer Laptops and Dell Desktops...so I can't really say if there is a computer too powerful for me but there probably is one out there |
As far as too powerful for me, no way, the only thing as far as "power" that might be too much is the drain on electricity, some of these multi-core machines I would certainly love to own, and run a boat load of folding@home instances on all the time, but it might be a bit too much drain on the wallet as well as the electricity, even to run the thing. |

There is no computer that is too fast for me, but I'd sure like a Mac Pro maxed out. |
