Why doesn't my hard drive show up under "S.M.A.R.T" in SpeedFan?

There are a number of possibilities, the most likely being that you're using a newer disk controller driver that Speedfan doesn't know how to read SMART data through.

I have the same issue on my current motherboard, but Crystal Disk Info was still able to read SMART information. Give that a try.

0	If the SMART option is activated in BIOS, then the problems is SpeedFan, i recommend you use HD Tune, they have a free version that worked all the time with lots of configurations I tried it on. answered Jul 13 '10 at 21:20 rvxtm 166●7
