One thing that I've thought about numerous times, but never have really could figure out just by myself. How does someone get a domain name? I know you can go through Go Daddy, but how do you do it without Go Daddy? I know Chris doesn't use Go Daddy. |

There are plenty of domain name registrars / web site hosts out there - and each has its benefits and drawbacks. We had worked with GoDaddy to secure http://go.tagjag.com/godaddy coupons for you (and http://www.godaddy.com/?isc=go20off9 is their current offer). We just couldn't work out better deals with other vendors for you. :( ...Suspended? I can maybe recommend a few PHP Scripts with the functionality of QSQA? It'd probably be too much of a hassle to transfer though. edit the source... All of the backend is opperated by the OSQA DZone, which means we have no control of any php scripts, enhanced themes or even updates (500 revisions old) That sucks!

I've obtained my domains from GoDaddy, but you can use others:
I'd check your ISP, and compare rates. Good luck! |

Chris doesn't use Go Daddy? He mentions coupons to Go Daddy fairly often -- you can get them at http://go.tagjag.com/godaddy I use GoDaddy.com for all my domains and I have no complaints -- great prices and frequent sales/readily available coupon codes everywhere. In the early 2000's, I moved all my domain registrations from Network Solutions (http://www.nsi.com/) to GoDaddy. Network Solutions used to be (a decade or so ago, roughly) the only domain name registrar; they had something of a monopoly though I don't remember the specific circumstances. Anyway, they charged an arm and a leg back then and they still do, so once I trusted GoDaddy I moved over to them. |

here is a list of a bunch of them: |

I believe Chris uses Go Daddy but I'm not sure. You Could use DiFrancoHosting.com which is a Go Daddy Reseller but handled by a different person and cheaper than Go Daddy. Or 1&1 - 1and1.com NameCheap - NameCheap.com Or A lot of hosting companies allow you to get a free domain for life apon purchase of a hosting account. |

I don't like how GoDaddy works, They're always trying to up-sell you throughout the checkout process, charge you extra for Who-is protection, and have miserable support, especially when you try to close out some of your domains with them. I use Hover.com instead. Much simpler, clean, easy, and fair. And they have great support as well. |

You could use HostGator, they resell domains at a low price. I like em better than Go Daddy. |

I highly recommend NameCheap. They usually have coupons that are good for each month so you have same some money as well. The reason why I use this is that they offer FREE whois guard with each domain purchase. Go Daddy, you would need to buy it separately. Namecheap doesn't. |
