I've been looking for a new, but affordable, DX10 card that will be able to play the newer games (Like Shattered Horizon or The Force Unleashed 2) but I don't know which one to buy! What do you guys think?

The card I suggest for the price and you can play brand new games with maxed out graphics with it is the Saphire Radeon HD 5770 and you can get it for around $100-$120. By the way this card is also able to support DirectX 11 so thats just an an added bonus.

Have fun with Witcher 2 at 10 fps. 'Maxed' my arse.

I can play any new game maxed like COD Black Ops or Dead Space 2 and I have never heard of Witcher so possibly not on that game but I don't see how you would only get 10 fps

Because it's a new game.

There's no way you're actually maxing these games. You're probably running with no anti-aliasing or at some low resolution.

Trust me I know my games im running them at 1920 by 1080 resolution and AA at full and maxed model and texture resolutions all the setting in the graphics options I have maxed im telling you the truth I don't know if it works on your computer but it works on mine. Also when I have these games maxed I get 40-50 FPS and on many many other games I can get over a hundred.

Are you overclocked?

(Jun 08 '11 at 22:58) Illusion Slayer Illusion%20Slayer's gravatar image

No neither my cpu or gpu are overclocked and in catalyst control center for my video card under the overclocking software that came with it I have never used it and it is currently set to 850 MHz gpu clock and 1200MHz memory clock but if I wanted to I could overclock the gpu to 960 and my memory clock to 1445

well just please believe me and I know people that have had a great experience with this video card I don't know if you had a bad experience but in my opinion its a great card and its fact that I have been able to run graphically intensive games truly maxed out.

You've no reason to lie so I've no reason not to trust you.

I'd go with a DX11 card, maybe the AMD Radeon HD 6850 or the 6750. Both can play most current PC games as long as you don't play them at huge resolutions or anything like that.

I don't know why you don't want a DX11 card.
I'm not sure if you realize this but most DX11 cards are faster and cheaper then the old DX11 cards.
I would suggest either a GTX 560 or a GTX 460.
Depending on what you mean by "cheap".
