Ok so today I felt like upgrading to ubuntu 10.04. I downloaded it through wubi. So I use the windows boot loader. Anyway I downloaded it and it installed when I go to the boot menu and chose ubuntu my screen just goes black. Screen turns of and goes in power saving mode. Anyone had this problem?
Also where wubi downloaded ubuntu I looked and I found the iso ubuntu-10.04-desktop-amd64 Why does it have amd64? I don't remember chosing that I have an amd processor and I don't think I even chose the 64bit version....although my windows 7 is running at 64bit

If your computer is 64-bit, then amd64 is fine for you.
As for the screen turning black, I really can't tell you what the problem is, as there isn't enough information. I usually discourage people from installing through Wubi, too.
Can you try to install it without Wubi? Do you have a spare partition you can install on?
