Dell Laptop Problems: Won't boot up?

I am fixing a Dell Inspiron 6000 and it just simply wont boot up. When you press the power button, it turns on, lights up but then just cuts off and wont boot after 2 seconds of pressing the power button. We have took it apart, checked harddrive but cant find the problem. Any help?

0	it sounds like it's either thermal cut out or the motherboard could just be knackered, in which case i would just throw it out. answered Jul 21 '10 at 19:58 coolsecretspy 556●7●9●15
