Tell me if anime had an impact in your life or your opinion in today's society? It's for a research for my English class. |

I grew up watching:
I'd say that Anime has entertained me as a child. I wanted those gadgets like the Mach 5, OxaGum, Electric Boomarang, etc. Speed Racer & Pops knew Judo & Karate. There's always characters drawn funny. I always wondered why the sound wasn't in sync with the mouth. Society got Transformers, Battlestar Galactica, etc. |

I think once I saw Robotech (or "Macross+two other unrelated cartoons") it kinda showed me how much cooler things could be beyond Transformers. It was interesting that Transformers pilfered the Jetfire right from Robotech to make Jetscream. In fact, the first version of Jetscream had Macross logos on its wings. Anime cartoons gave me a far more fantastical view of the future, space, and societal/government interactions. And AKIRA... oh man.. glad I was mature when I got into that. Sorry I did a pre-bean glitch: Jetfire was the Transformers character based on the "Veritech Fighter" from Robotech. And here's some more info on Robotech: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robotech |

Well i haven't read it, but i know lot's who did, and still do. It is their connection away from the real world, and i get to see them read the book for hours. I don't find these "stories" funny or entertaining at all.. |
What is anime? I'm not sure. If I don't know what it is, I can't say.
anime is the name given to Japanese cartoons.
