Asus or Sony. They make great, quality computers. Alienware is too overpriced and just too bulky. HP... Who knows what they're doing anymore... So yeah just my 2 cents.

I guess from the choices above, I'd go for the HP.
Compare with the system below.

Xplorer X8-7600

• 320GB 5400RPM SATA300 HDD
• 8X DVD Rewritable Drive

$999

I recommend that you don't go with HP, because they are responsible for about 40% of all computer failures. I recommend going with the Alienware on this one.

Alienware's quality is shit, they usually don't even last 2 years. They also look horrible and they are overpriced. A lot of HPs have heat problems, but some of their computers are pretty nice. Just throwing that out there.

oh wait so I found out that the ATI mobility radeon HD 5650 is a little bit better than the m11x's geforce gt335m, so the only good things about the alienware is the core i7 and the cool design, but it doesnt have a dvd slot, less HDD space, smaller screen, lower res. and its $300 more than the HP pavilion, I guess I'm getting that one then, I wish there was a core i7 version of the pavilion.. if you can find one please post a link to it here, thank you.

and the xplorer is a pretty decent machine and the 1080p 18 inch screen must be nice, but the graphics card is not strong enough for what I want.

Try an Asus, they have a low fail rate, and their gaming laptops are awesome. I don't know how much money you want to spend, but this should play pretty much anything you throw at it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834230099
