I can't say I disagree. Even compared to Ben & Jerry's and Haagen-Dazs (which isn't even European), Blue Bell simply tastes better to me.

How can I not say Ben and Jerry's when I met Ben Cohan at his former gas station manufacturing plant back before the brand was a nation-wide phenon. As we walked down the stairs from the office, I stopped mid-staircase and turned back to him, pointing my finger at him and said "You're gonna kill me, Ben!" When he looked at me puzzled, I explained I loved his product and ate way too much of it. "Keep it up," he said, "we need the sales!" We both laughed. At one point they were selling seconds in 8-sleeve paks for $10.00 I bought 3. They were gone in six days. My heart was racing fast as I ate the last pint.
