Apple ships iPhone bumpers - will this help?

Today Apple shipped out its new bumper cases. If you don't already know, users of the iPhone 4 have reported loss of signal when holding it a certain way, so Apple is giving all users free bumpers. So do you think this will solve the signal problem and have you had this issue with your iPhone?
