Okay, so I have an iPod Touch 2nd gen 8gb. I jailbroke it on 3.1.2 with BlackRa1n and I wanted to upgrade to iOS4. So when I restored it it got stuck on the apple boot screen. I have tried to enter DFU mode, but I have had no luck yet. So about every 10-15 minutes the screen flashes white, then black, then it goes back to the boot screen. What should I do?

This happened to me. Make sure you put it in DFU mode properly. Turn off, hold home/sleep button 10 sec. release sleep button but still hold home button. wait then plug into iTunes and click restore.

dude, i've had the same problem over 10 times. your power button can't be broken if you've already got it in DFU mode. All you gotta do is go through the steps repeatedly, and try restoring over and over. It will recognize it one its in its right state. Currently it's probably in a very safe state actually. apple software is still imputed so no data loss to the drive. Macs aren't the best for doing this kind of stuff because it doesn't recognize DFU mode. Your best bet if you can't get anything working would be to use iRecovery, or even somehow finding a code to force reboot your device with iBoot. Like I said, no need to panic. All it takes is a bit of patience, and you got it.
