Has anyone purchased the Apple Bumper for their iPhone 4? Does it alleviate the signal strength problem when you hold the phone in your bare hands? Has anyone received one free of charge from Apple?

I don't got an iPhone, but I can tell my thoughts. Thinking that the problem is fixed now because there's a bumper for it is wrong. It's like you tape two broken parts together they work, but it isn't the real fix. I think that Apple screwed up this time. I'm pretty sure that they knew that if you hold it the "wrong way" it would lose its signal, but they still released it and thought it would be great to get some more money on selling $30 bumpers. It's ridiculous.

I finally received the Bumper that I originally ordered from Apple. When I ordered it, I didn't yet know about the reception problems. It really does solve that problem and it looks pretty good on the phone. It's almost as though they sold the iPhone 4 without the antenna cover, and made us cough up an extra $30 dollars for something that was designed to insulate the antenna. I'm sure that Apple was aware of the reception problem before the public release. The Bumper should have been shipped with each and every phone (or at least a coupon for ordering one in our choice of color).
