Ubuntu Operation System

This may sound like a stupid a question but is the Ubuntu Operating System a free download? Again may sound stupid but I have not once heard someone say that they bought the Ubuntu OS. If it is free where can you download it?

1	there is paid services that canocial the maintainers of ubuntu offer for server support. But for home use as Kevin has stated it is 100% free and not ony is it free so is all the software. answered Aug 01 '10 at 10:00 CiphersSon (suspended)
