I'm looking for a music service similar to iTunes where you can download music but you pay monthly instead of per song. I want to be able to download the songs and be able to use them on different devices such as an iPod touch and my HTC Evo. I want a big selection and be able to download as much as I want and be able to keep the music even after my subscription with this service is over. I want a lot of music and I want it legally. What do you suggest?

I think there is a service that Chris Pirillo uses that fits what you want. It is called rhapsody.

Another one is Microsoft's Zune monthly subscription service.

It looks like they let you download the actual files and it says you can use them as long as your a member but I dont see any specific details about it. It also says you can buy the songs for about 69 cents each.

Spotify is a monthly but is drm protected so you can only listen to offline music on that computer I think.

If you know someone who has it you can get a free invite and listen to all the music you want for free with the odd 30 second add here and there.

I don't know about services where you can download and keep the music forever on a monthly subscription but Rdio is really cool and you can try it for 3 days free! It's basically a music streaming service which an application for desktop, Android, and iPhone! You select whatever music, make playlists, and listen!
