I had read an article on Make Magazine and this is interesting. The article, http://makezine.com/22/kittytwitty/, explains about making a toy that connects to twitter when your cat plays with it, or make a pressure sensitive bowl when your pets eats or take a drink. Or maybe have a device that detects something when your pets plays with their favorite toy. Should we have our pets twittering their daily lives so that everyone can see what they are doing? Even when their master is away for the day? What do you think?

Why not, considering there are already tweeting plants and tweeting robots! ;-)

Oh, geesh, Pet Tweeting is absolutely silly.

I love good animals... especially cats or dogs.

But the whole world doesn't need to know when they play with their toys, take a drink, or crap in the back yard.

but i think the question is, like any other twitter question, who would really care? I mean what kind of person would be interested in a tweet that says "Spots is playing with his favorite ball" Its funny how we (as people) are making animals more and more humanlike. This reminds me of a comic i was listening to one day who said that one day he went to the mall and there were more dogs in line to see the doggy santa then there was people in line to see the real santa. this is just getting a little out of hand

Why does it matter? People do lots of weird or pointless things offline... the fact that some of them do so online, too, just means the online world has joined the 'offline' world. If it doesn't hurt anyone, I don't see any problem with it. I follow a pet rabbit on Twitter, actually. Why? Because I know its owners and the status updates are hilarious. It's like following the Darth Vader account... good clean fun.

it is easy to allow your pet to tweet.

You can connect multiple keyboards up to a single computer.

when not at home, put your good keyboard up and leave a cheaper/ more basic one out for your dog or cat, they can then use that to send out tweets about what they are doing. (but I have a feeling that dogs and cats don't like twitter mainly because of the message length limit. It is difficult to make a well thought out sentence with the limits.

You if you cant get them to use twitter, then you can probably talk your dog or cat into using another social networking site.

Due to the size of keyboard keys, you may need to make a tool that your dog or cat can use in order to type on the keyboard. If you can't find a tool that they can you is that you may have to modify keyboards make the keys bigger

I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea. But my dogs claws would tear all the keys out of the keyboard on my laptop.

I don't see why it would be bad. There are robots, and plants that tweet. Why not a pet. They should have start tweeting before the plants.

no, it annoys me greatly, people make facebook for their pets, and that annoys me too, I don't need to know and I don't care what your dog is doing, most people's tweets ans status are pointless, as would be animals
