I am very interested in starting my own small (one man band) type computer repair business. I have Cisco certification and much experience repairing computers and networks for free. I am just uncertain how much I should charge for different services (UK based).
How much do you think would be a fair cost for the following things (and why):
Thanks in advance.

I would suggest that you take a look at your venture from a business frame of mind. Basically, you need to find out what the competition is charging for the same services that you want to provide and then price competitively.
What are the computer repair shops (where you take your pc to their store) in your area charging for the same type of work? Do they make “house calls” to repair computers in someone’s home? If so, what do they charge for their “in-home” work and what do they charge for the travel to-and-from the customer’s home?
What are the independent pc repairmen/women charging for the same services you want to provide? How do they advertise their repair services?
Doing this type of basic research will allow you to: 1) determine the competition in your area; 2) get a base amount to charge for your various services; 3) determine what you can offer to customers that your competition does not or cannot offer to encourage customers to choose your services instead of your competition’s; and 4) determine how to advertise your company and repair services in your area. I do not quote any costs because only you know what the local market is charging for the same or similar services, and only you can determine which, if any, services you can undercut the competition to build and grow your customer base. Lastly, you must determine when it is a better option to tell a customer to buy a new computer rather than to continue to spend money to repair it? Honesty is always appreciated. Best wishes for success!
I thinnk that warrenties should come with parts and labor rarther than a fat guy coming round and says it's broken you will have to pay for parts.
