I'm an amateur/semi-pro photographer, and I'm just not sure how much I should charge say a local magazine for individual photos. $40? $100? more? less?

First you have to get established. With today's digital cameras, almost anyone can shoot a picture. Heck! My nieces & nephews snap gigabites of pictures for free. If you're paparazzi then it depends on who's in the picture. If you work for a magazine, then they would tell you what to shoot. If you're a portrait and/or wedding photogragher ... more

Rule of thumb ... Supply & Demand. You can charge as much as the market will bare.
