The day before yesterday, Jenny was 17 years old. Next year, she'll be 20 years old. How is this possible?

Today is January 1st, her 18th birthday was on December 31st. This year she'll be 19; 20 next.

You could be traveling at the speed of light which makes time move slower for you so you're gone like a day and she has aged 3 years.

It's a trick question, and Leap Year comes into play!

Jenny was 17 years old day before yesterday (Dec. 29, 2009), making her 18 years old in Dec. 31, 2009 ... 19 years old in 2010 ... 20 years old in 2011.

FYI: The Leap Year scenario works too
