Can you hookup a monitor to a laptop and the laptop acts as a computer tower? |

Try to consolidate your questions > ***http://lockergnome.net/questions/63599/is-this-dumb-laptop-question*** All you need is a Docking Station (aka. Port Replicator), and plug the external monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. |

Yes, you just need a VGA, DVI, HDMI cable. Either one work's as long as you have that port on both your laptop and other monitor. If you have HDMI and have a little more to spend on the cord, I recommend HDMI. It will give you the best quality. |

Yes, if your laptop has a monitor cable (via VGA, DVI, HDMI) connection, it can act as a computer tower. In some cases, an extra monitor can act as a secondary monitor (or dual monitor). |

Yes you can, you will need to plug the monitor into the vga port (blue 15 pin socket) once in windows usually on a laptop you will need to press a key combination to send the video to the newly attached monitor, usually Fn + F5 or similar, look at the function keys along the top of keyboard one should have a little picture of 2 screens. You can then configure the newly attached screen in display properties. Hope this helps |
