I have been meaning to put Mac OS X onto my already running Windows 7 machine by installing it onto a partition. But one of my friends, who is the techiest person I've ever met, said that I'd regret because my computer is not meant to run MAC OS. It is a custom build from January of this year. Specs: Intel Core i7 920 OC's to 4.2GHz ASRocks X58 Motherboard 6GB RAM [can't remember make] 2x GeForce GTS 250 250GB HDD, 1.5TB HDD So is my friend correct in saying it's not a good move or is he mistaken and will OS X run fine on my computer? |
The question has been closed for the following reason "Topic discusses illegal activities and violates Apple's Mac OS X EULA." by AppleHack23 Oct 14 '10 at 10:47

The problem is installing it its so difficult and you don't want to ruin your PC do what i did buy a mac. |

I honestly don't know if it will run, there are several websites that will tell you if it will, just google hackintosh. If you do get it installed choosing which os you want to boot into is simple. But as the previous person said, its easier to buy a mac and install windows on it. |

You need to find out if all the hardware is compatible with Mac OS X first before installing it. You will also need some third-party boot loader like Chameleon to boot into the install off a DVD or flash drive. It isn't really that easy, but it is possible. I have Mac OS X running on my Dell Mini 10v 100% |

It looks to me that you are trying to make a "Hackintosh", so you should Google that. |

Duel booting two like for like os is quite easy such as windows and linux or windows 7 and widows XP. Putting mac os on non standard or non recommended apple hardware might be a problem as it's designed to be difficult to run on any hardware that has not been put together by apple. Your technical friend is probably right, unless you have loads of free time and a spare computer to use then don't bother. Good luck: |

You can not run Mac OS X on non-apple hardware. It is against Apple EULA. If you want to do something illegal though you can try making a hackintosh. |

Running Mac OS on non-Apple hardware is against Apples EULA.
Not if they dont find out xD
I'm pretty sure even though Apple doesn't know you are Installing Mac OS on a non-Apple computer, its still against their EULA.
