Does anyone know of a simple, good, free screencast software, that doesn't blur things when it is uploaded to Youtube?

The question has been closed for the following reason "Yes we got it. Camtasia is the best..." by Jackster1337 Jun 27 '12 at 06:27

It took me almost 2 months to find a Screen Recorder that didn't suck.

HyperCam, CamStudio, Camtasia and every other screen recorder you can imaging give me trouble.

EXCEPT

BB Flashback.

Windows Only.

My favorite is by far Camtasia Studio 7, it has a 30- day free trial. But the best free screen recording software in my opinion is CamStudio.

It is probably because you used Movie Maker. It might be easy to use but it rapes the video quality.

EDIT: If you are still looking for a screen capture tool you could try using Jing. (It is free) http://www.jingproject.com/

I guess you could try Avidmux to see if the output is better quality than using the windows movie maker. Avidmux is free too, but it might be a little confusing at first.

Free, good, easy & similar to Cam is Windows Media Encoder 9. Do a Google for it.

From my use of it (recording Chris Pirillo Videos and Bloopers) I use Snagit. Also Camtasia is a great tool to have (from the makers of snagit). I know that Jing is also a great free tool that are from the makers of both snagit and camtasia.

I use DemoCreator as an alternative of Camtasia. I rarely make screencast video so the program which is simpler, cheaper and has enough features is enough for me.

If you wan to record sound, Audacity will be a great choice.

If you need something that doesn't take a lot of CPU I would recommend Bandicam it's free with a watermark in the video or you can pay $29.95 I think for it and it works great
