Okay right now we live in a world where we even have 12 year old hacking computers, The US Goverment and CO like Windows sends little spywares to our computers, new malware rises each day in millions. It's our security and privacy in jeopardy? I don't think with just Malwarebytes, and anti virus will solve it. Maybe someone will actually create something that will really protect us. What do you guys think are we save or not with just our current brands of security? What's the future? |

Well I don't believe we will ever be safe from those things. As security evolves so do the hackers. So even if the anti virus's get a new update soon enough so will hackers, and as for the government what can we do its the government. |

I feel PC Security & Privacy will decrease more & more as Monitoring Technologies increase. From Location Based Services, GPS, IP Mapping, Nielsen Ratings, Tivo, Netflix, Discount Buyers Card, Credit Card Purchases, Google, Yahoo, BING ... more well I don't use those things with the exception of Google search bar. As long as you use the internet, phone, etc., there's information being left and/or gathered on you. Yes am aware that even in my Itouch info is gatered :( |

Your Internet privacy is pretty much void once you connect. You can avoid collateral damage by not visiting sites such as crack sites that will often lay evil traps and only go to sites that you or friends have recommended. Google has a number of data collection points so that as you go around the net your browsing habits are being monitored. You can opt out of it, but not that many people probably realize it. Even when your not at a google website then these points are setup elsewhere such as sites that have google ad sense and how many of those have that?... We just have to keep an eye out and make sure the people who are collecting the data are not doing it to F U in the A later. People can still find a lot of people in the phone book and find their numbers. Do we simply think that because we look anonymous from the the computer that we should assume we are anonymous anyway? The only difference with the net is that in a few clicks, the data of millions can be mined. The only way to be truly safe and private is to simply not connect. I recon no matter how many fixes to stop malaware, viruses and trying to get people to stop collecting data then people will always do it and find ways around blocks, it's part and parcel of the net being this big open ocean that anyone can swim in. Someones gonna pee and ruin it for everyone. Having freedom don't mean your free. |

As old man gibson recently said on his podcast 'computer weren't built with security in mind' at the inception of this revolutionary age were in the mist of. I think even if a completely new OS was designed from the ground up on a completely different architecture (other than i386 mmx and all the other abbreviations) of chip design connected to a 2ed internet behind multaple filters and firewalls ect ect the shiznet would still get exploited.
