I'm not really good with computers, but anyway, i currently have a Toshiba A200 Satellite Pro, with 1.5gb of ram and a 1.6Ghz Proccesor, It's got two hardrives, Vista (:c) which has 37.2gb on it with only 6.94gb left, and the second is 35.7gb with 34.7gb left. I'm running Vista Buisness SP2. It's speed is averagely fast. I was wondering if there is anyway to speed it up, and clean up my hardrive, because only 6.94gb left out of 37.2gb? I don't think any of the programs i used together could take up 30gb, i've had this laptop for about 2/3 years, and have only recently started using it again, so i'm guessing it's full of junk. Also, should i stick with vista? or downgrade to XP, or maybe even up to Windows 7, but at the moment i don't have the money. Any suggestions would be welcome Also - I'm planning to be making youtube videos of recorded gameplay, and commentating over them from My xbox 360, i'm getting a Dazzle DVC 100, do i need more Ram or Hardrive Memory? thanks. |

Dude, 40GB is not much at all, your expectations are outdated. Also, XP would be an upgrade from Vista (Not in a technical sense but in my opinion.) You most certainly need at least another GB of RAM and a processor with at least twice that GHz. You should also get an external hard drive of around 200GB of space to go along with the 40GB you currently have for Vista and the other 80GB. 120GB goes by fast. I have a 250 GB hard drive 3GBs of RAM and a dual core processor with 2 2GHz cores. Upgrade asap dude. |

I don't really have the money to upgrade that much, I have about £150 , what can i really upgrade to with that? I'm not good at this stuff , i know how to put ram in but thats about it. Sorry if i seem stupid, my computer has 2 ram slots, i currently have a 512 and a 1gb in so if i bought a 2gb ram and sell my 512.. but then about the processer how do i check if it's dual core or not? i don't think it is but then again i've been wrong before. And i can 'upgrade' to XP anytime. Thanks Any advice on upgrading would help. |

I think that Linux could be a good option for you. There are some decent video editors that are free for Linux, but I think that they are better than Windows Media Player. Ubuntu is one of the best Linux distributions, and I think that if you give it a chance, it might work for you. |
