I REALLY want to buy a refurbished PowerMac G5 with 2GB of RAM and a 20" Apple Cinema display. The only problem is that I have no money. I'd really like to get the computer before I go back to school in early September, so that means I have about a month to make $700. Anyone got any ideas on how I could accomplish that goal? Please, don't tell me to mow lawns or watch pets. I alrerady do both of those things and all that money goes towards my cellphone bill. Any OTHER ideas? Any help would be great! Thanks! Oh BTW, I'm 14 |

If you are interested in doing web design which is a really smart idea I would recommend promoting yourself on websites like Twitter and Facebook. Also start a website and advertise your service. Word of mouth can go a long way if you do good. |

I like to approach these kinds of problems from the numbers - especially since that is what I do. Numbers. So $700 in one month. A month has 4 weeks, which means about $175/week, right? Now are you going to work 7 days/week or 5 (if you want weekends off)? Let's say you are REALLY motivated and will work 7! That comes to $25/day. So how can you make $25/day for the next month? If you can offer your web design services at $25/hour, which is very reasonable and maybe appropriate since you are only 14, then you can do this very easily. Just get 2 or 3 clients to do this for and you're set. See how this works? If your goal is based on a number, then you should approach the whole problem as a "numbers" problem. $25/day seems like it should be pretty doable, no? that's simply brilliant. But, can you suggest anything besides web design? I've already put ads up, i just need people to bite What else are you good at? Where are you placing the ads? Craigslist is saturated but it's free to post so you might as well. Also check help wanted ads online for "Part time" web designers and offer that you can save them money by consulting with them for $25/hour. Do you like to write? Blog? There are lots of sites that will pay you for that - in fact Chris Pirillo's Lockergnome.com does that. Try submitting a few guest blog posts and see if they pick you up. The generic answer is think in terms of what you can do for people then find a way to approach them (on or offline) and offer to do it for them for $25/hour. |

Put your skills to work and offer services to local businesses. I bill out $200 and up for server and network jobs. |

Try to get a job at a local restaurant. I have lots of friends that are 14 and that is how they make some money. I don't know how much they make but it has to be a good amount for a 14 year old. |

Web design, I'm 14 and do web design. I've got my first client who wants a 3 page site, one of the pages being a shop page (paypal integration), and they're going to be paying me close to £100 ($155), so get a few clients and make some money! :D
