Help with creating my Cool Chris Logo?

Yes I know I've asked someone to create me a Cool Chris Logo before but this time I want help. I've found instructions on how to do if but they're confusing (I'm no whiz on Photoshop). I have a picture of me in Photoshop, I've been told to adjust the black levels so it brings out the edges of my face (which I don't know if is done right). Now I have to Live Trace in Illustrator, but I'm confused beyond belief. Is anyone willing to help me out, please?
