Hey

So I am planning on buying a MacBook Pro 13 inch. I was wondering if Apple care is worth it? I own alot of apple products like iPods and iPhones and have never had any problems with them. I know a MacBook is different from an iPod or iPhone, but Apple says the computer is made so well and carefully so should I bother paying that extra price. The MacBook also comes with a year warranty for parts, and 90 days for phone. Though I will probably never use the phone help.

So do you think it worth it getting an Apple Care Protection Plan?

Thanks.

if you know your way around in message boards you probably don't need it.

Absolutely! Apple Care is one of the best things about buying an Apple product. I bought a new MacBook Pro only three months ago, and have already saved literally over a thousand dollars worth of damage charges from buying it. While most people don't get that drastic savings, just one repair can cost as much (if not much more) as the Apple Care. It's definitely worth it.

What kind of problems did the MacBook have?

I never had any of my Macs break, so for me Apple Care isn't worth it. You'll almost never need it.

And people why Windows guys and Apple guys sneeeeer at each other so,so very much.

Eric, if none of your Macs don't break, its because you either don't keep them long or use them much. I've been in this business for a LONG time and all of them break.

Most supplemental warranties benefit THEM, not you and thats true with cars, washing machines, tires and air conditions, too. I buy extended warranties on my cars, but I pay cash for them.Never add something like that to your financing.

Even though Apple Care doesn't financially benefit them, it benefits them in that many people buy Mac's because of how great Apple Care is. Chris even did a video once, recommending someone to buy a MacBook Pro over an HP Touchsmart because of how much money one usually saves with Apple Care.

It's only worth it when it breaks.
